Guest wlue Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Dear Smartphone users, If you have difficulty accessing generic internet content not designed specifically for mobile devices, a free help is now available at: http://www.jennerresearch.com Just go to this url through your Smartphone and enter your destination there. This service strips down existing internet content to its essential parts and present to form factor constrained devices in a friendly manner. Oversized images are removed but hyperlinks and major HTML form interactions are are preserved. Large content will be automatically split into hierachically linked, according to its original design, as properly sized pages for easy access. Your comments and feedbacks are very welcome so the service could be further imporved !! Thanks !! Vincent :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 I've been testing this for the past few days and i am VERY impressed. Anyone want to view a framed site? This will do it! Very good work by the Jenner people.
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Hey, this is pretty good. Is it staying FREE? If so I might ditch Skweezer
Guest Matt Whitfield Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Ooooo, now that is good... I've just tried a framed site and it works just fine! Quick too :-)
Guest hk Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 woo, looks very nice, been wanting something like this since I got my phone, glad am doing this little spree of getting up to speed with the forums ;) I like the fact you can bookmark the url it goes to and use it over and over again. theregister.co.uk will never be the same again :D heh.
Guest wlue Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Dear Smartphone users: Based on recent user requests, we have the following updates on the service at http://www.jennerresearch.com 1. The capacity of each content partition from the original document has been increased to reduce the number of links when reading long texts. 2. Oversized images have been added as individual links with sizing information. For example, an image of 10K pixel size is show as a hyperlinke of (10K) in addition to its text information. You are very welcome to give it a try and send us feedbacks !! Thanks !! Vincent ;)
Guest Coucou Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 This is the first time Ive tried anything like this, have to say I'm very impressed by both the program and Vincent's response to my request for larger page size (I actually requested that this be a feature you could set yourself, I believe the increase in page size is a temporary fix for the trial) What does Skweezer do Chris? Why would you switch from one to the other? I've never used it so keep it simple ;)
Guest yoos Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 I can't get this to work on my original SPV... When I connect via GPRS and put a site in, it brings up a page that says: UnAuthorized Request Sorry, your device is not yet supported. Please send comments/requests for additional needs. I sent [email protected] an email on this too...
Guest martin Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 I can't get this to work on my original SPV... When I connect via GPRS and put a site in, it brings up a page that says: UnAuthorized Request Sorry, your device is not yet supported. Please send comments/requests for additional needs. You wouldn't happen to be running WebWapSelect by any chance. Hmmmm :-k :)
Guest yoos Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Doh! Good call Martin!!! That was it... I do have webwapselect, but I haven't used it in a while. I just ran it and it had WEB selected. I changed it to SPV and now it works! Thanks!
