Jagged icons...who else is bothered by this?

Not to sound overly picky, but it was understandable for Smartphone 2002, but I would think that they would do some anti-aliasing or something like that to make icons have smooth edges....does symbian have smooth edges?

I mean, the screenshots of 2003 still have that jagged stuff:

although the wierd thing is, the screenshot of the new motorola over at coolsmartphone.com> this is running 2002, and it looks CLEAR. Was this touched up by photoshop?

The screen resolution of SmartPhone2002/3 devices is 176x220 pixels. If you blow it up on your PC (running at a much higher resolution) you will always lose picture quality...

well yea of course i know that, but you know what im talking about. do you not notice the jagged edges of your icons?

I always thought the 32x32 pixel icons on my tan looked very smooth considering the resolution. ;)

With most skins I don't think you'd even get this problem, it's just if you have a relatively high contrast background... ie: something light coloured compared to the icon's dark borders.

Don't have a problem on my XBox skin :-D

I'm more annoyed by the fact that I've now got a ridiculous amount of dust under my screen so I'm more likely not be be able to see the icons rather than notice their jagged borders :-P

Matt, u got O Care? If so you can get it replaced under that.

Bit hard to compare pictures on the net as you never know how the picture was saved, it could have been saved with anti-a.

I suppose it also depends on how close you hold the phone to your eyes.

Definitely an altered image. They had to compensate for the angle of the flip phone because it doesn't open completely flat and they couldn't submit a picture of the screen from a slight angle. Notice the screen-size differences in red.

And what's with the screenshot on the right? Why does it say START instead of PROGRAMS? And why does the date say 10/17/03? Is that a screenshot from the future? SOmething tells me that's an OLD screenshot. Happy Birthday Eva!
