Guest sabio_proeliat Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Hallo! I need som help with my mitac mio. Does anyone know how Telia configuration for MMS would be? And of not can I get some other opertor's configuration just to compare with? And the last question; Are there any other MMS apps for smartphone 2002, I don't like jMMS! Thanks ;)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 Where are you located? Where's Telia? In Italy? Just trying to bump this up so you could get a response. I hate 0 response posts. But remember most of the users here are in the UK...so it may take some time to get an answer.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 Here you go ;) http://www.qtek.nu/settings/7070/telia_mms/index.htm I'm impressed with this link nice and graphic :D shame I can't read it though  PS the link was via the Settings Repository in the Articles section.
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 Thanks but I have visit that site earlier and it doesn't work cuz the settings are for qtek and the menus (bealive it or not) are not the same for mitac   . I think I need a mitac user to answer this question
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 The menu's may be different but I would have thought the actual settings were the same :? Sorry I can't be of more help.
Guest Voldemort Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 i upgrade from an spv to the mitac i tried to put the same settings on the mms program (jMMS), but it still doesn't work i'm italian and using vodafone obviously i have all the setting i need but the phone still tries to send mms through a mms center with +44 prefix which is not italian; i really don't know how to change/remove that number...
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 And I need to change it to +46! Can you send MMS? I can but not recive them!
Guest martin Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 And of not can I get some other opertor's configuration just to compare with?I think I posted this before so it may not have been of any use. Here it is again anyway. The only settings I have seen for Mitac MMS is for Orange Hong Kong. Goto http://www.orangehk.com/eng/ Click FAQ at the bottom of the screen Click Handset Settings on the left menu Select Mitac - Mitac 8380 Can you send MMS? I can but not recive them! Did you create a new GPRS connection for MMS with 'Points to MMS Connection' ? Hopefully someone will get it to work as it seems every Mitac owner wants MMS.
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 I made a new connection yes. But no result! Thanks for the url anyway :)
Guest Voldemort Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 i made the new connection, but it takes ages to load and obviously it doesn't send or receive. it goes on loading for minutes. i suppose it's cuz of the center number .Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest martin Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Have you tried entering a country code in Settings-Telephony-Call Options ? Why the country code prefix anyway ? Are you setting up the MMS transfer via GSM dialup or GPRS ? Either way if the jMMS takes ages to load as it sound like really dodgy application  I was thinking of buying one of these phones but I think I'll wait for the SPV E200 :) Based on the HK settings I would have thought Vodafone MMS would be created something like this. Is this anything like the setting you already have ? Create GPRS connection. Description: Vodafone MMS Connects to: MMS connection Access point: mms.vodafone.it User name: (blank) Password: (blank) Primary DNS: Secondary DNS: IP address: (blank) Select Programs jMMS (enter) Settings (enter) Profile (enter) MMS Profile=Vodafone MMS Edit Profile MMSC=http://mms.vodafone.it/servlets/mms Data Connection=Vodafone MMS Gateway=WAP 1.0 Gateway IP Address:10.128.224.10 Port: 9201 Encoding=Binary left key to apply left key to "Done" to save settings
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 It's dialing it's dialing and guess what it's DIALING! :( Thanks for the settings I use Telia but some of the information was good to know. Well I use gprs as dialup (can't use GSM can you :)?) My settings: Description: Telia MMS Connects to: MMS connection Access point: mms.telia.se User name: mms Password: telia Primary DNS: Secondary DNS: IP address: (blank) MMSC= http://mmss/ Data Connection=Telia MMS Gateway=WAP 1.0 Gateway IP Address:193.209.134.132 Port: 9201 Encoding=Binary Shouldn't I use my GPRS connection as Data Connection in jMMS? Cuz it's Telia not Telia MMS I've got two one for MMS and one for GPRS! Could it be the app GPRS counter?
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Err I haven't set up my wap connection could that be a problem?
Guest Voldemort Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 wht are you using italian settings? is telia a sub-company of vodafone? in sweden?
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 No telia is the largest service provider in Sweden :)
Guest Voldemort Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 i'm not trying to irritate you, but why are you using vodafone settings?
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 My settings: Description: Telia MMS Connects to: MMS connection Access point: mms.telia.se User name: mms Password: telia Primary DNS: Secondary DNS: IP address: (blank) MMSC= http://mmss/ Data Connection=Telia MMS Gateway=WAP 1.0 Gateway IP Address:193.209.134.132 Port: 9201 Encoding=Binary Well this is the settings from Telia!
Guest Voldemort Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 sorry, i misunderstood your post and the martin's one
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 haha no problem man. Thanks for the help anyway :) As I said before; I haven't config my wap settings could that be a problem? :?
Guest martin Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 I haven't config my wap settings could that be a problem? It shouldn't be. I can delete all my GPRS WAP and GPRS internet settings in my SPV and still succesfully send/receive MMS with only the MMS settings in the phone. I assume that your network provider has activated MMS on your account and that you have already tried MMS on another phone ?
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 I haven't tried it on another phone . But the service is activated that's for sure. Don't know what the problem might be. I've some major problem with my GPRS connection to.
