SPV hungerstrike

My malcontent SPV has suddenly stopped accepting vital sustenance. When I plugged my phone in the cradle this morning the charging icon would not appear and the light didn't change to amber, just kept winking at me in that provocative manner. I pulled it out of the cradle and attached the clip-on charger connector and was met with the same result. I tried the plug in a different wall socket and made sure the three pin section was firmly attached to the rest of the charger.

Now the clock is ticking. If a solution doesn't present itself soon I'm afraid it's not gonna make it. At least it's still syncing with my PC.

Is there anyway to test and see if the charger is faulty (I don't have any other spvs) or if the phone is faulty? Either way it's a case of running the Orange Care gauntlet with their dribbling questions of doom and chasmotic waiting time.

Help me anyone, you're my only hope!

Do you have a mulit meter of some sort? you can test to see if there is a voltage comming from the charger.

of maybe there is a dodgy connection on the battery (the thermal components) so it wont charge, try checking the battery.

what else...........? humm....

you could then try moding the cradle to charge from the PC's USB port....

This can happen if the battery gets low,

Nice easy solution, power off the phone remove battery then replace, power on and charge.

Tried the multimeter but couldn't get a reading. Pins were too thick to get into the hole in the conector. Then tried removing the battery and it worked! Strange thing is my phone was showing three out of the four bars when it refused to charge.

It was a bug I reported back in December but it's not as common as the "headset problem" etc so most people miss it.
