Guest Myke Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 it will be. theyll just port the pocket PC version. id wait till the smartphone launches in the US, then theyll release it. there isnt enough demand in europe for it =(
Guest Matt Whitfield Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 I was going to say... nobody really uses AOL Messenger do they??
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 No, but a lot of American's use AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), which is an entirely different entity.
Guest urdone311 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 I would have to say about 90% of us Americans use AOL instant messenger... A lot of europeans get confused, and think AIM is a stupid client because they dont like AOL dial up service. Basically AIM is to AOL, what MSN messenger is to MSN Dial-UP. Aim can talk to other AIM clients as well as AOL clients, as MSN messenger can talk to MSN messenger clients as well as people who use the MSN dial up service as their ISP. Us Americans are in need of AIM for our spartphones, an official working version.
Guest AngelOfRage Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Ive never even seen AIM or AOL, i do know that AOL bought out ICQ, but in the UK, most people i know use either ICQ or MSN. Its just a shame i cant get ICQ on my Smartphone i think that would be alot more usefull...
Guest fattytl Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 i am sure 95% of you know this but you can use icq and aim right now through imov messenger software. i have beendoing this for the last six months. if you want to use msn, icq and aim all at the same time you can if you private message me i will tell you what server i use... just don't want everyone using it if you know what i mean. and yes aim is huge in america i think anyone that is 21 or under has a screenname. i'm 24 and i don't have one friend who doesn't use it on a daily basis. whether at work, home or on their phones...
