Guest flyswat Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Helllllllllpp... Previously when i had my trusty Nokia 7110 connected to my PC, I used a dial up connection setup so I could use a slow 9600 connection to access the internet. Although this was slow, I could access simple websites, get E-mail etc. As I am on everyday 50 this included 50 mins inclusive of data calls dialed via 0845 number. I am trying to setup the same with my E100 phone. I have installed the USB modem and it's setup correctly, I believe, (leaving out the changes for GPRS) and told my PC (not literally, as i don't suppose that would work) to use the correct modem on dialing my ISP and it works connects and works OK. The problem may be that I don't know if I am connecting at 9600 or 14400. My Nokia could only connect at 9600 which was OK, but my E100 I do not know about. 9600 would mean I wouldn't get stung heavy phone charges as 14400 i believe would be classed as HCSDC connection, which would mean a very scary phone bill at the end of the month. Although I don't connect this method often (as the speed is just too good....esp. when i am used to broadband, :lol): but, i would like to be able to do it when needed. Any ideas>?? :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:  :?:
