There are a lot of differences between the two phones and I don't have the time to go into them at the moment.

The Mio has a faster processor totally different design etc but where it is a new device not as many people have them at the moment. so the finer points have not really been covered yet.

Quickly Answered (My own personal opinion):

MITAC MIO:

;) I like the form of the Mitac over the SPVs.

:D Flip Phones are kind of cool. It keeps the screen from getting scratched.

:lol: It's smaller when closed.

:lol: :( The buttons seem bigger but hard to type by feeling without looking because they are very flat and flush with the body.

:lol: The integrated camera is really nice and fast campared to the detachable SPV camera.

:lol: The phone is much faster due to the processor and higher OS. Games play faster. Everything just seems to run smoother, Not many lags.

:lol: The screen is big and bright.

:D The metal battery make the phone feel good and sturdy in your hands.

:D :( Some cool extra software out of the box...but I didn't use any since I was already used to other programs that seem a bit better. (ie file explorer, task manager)

:( Newer than the SPV and not supported as much on the forum here since many don't have it yet.

:( I hate antennas on phones. Wish it didnt have one.

:( The outer LCD time doesnt show 12 hour time.

:( Your ear has to be right over the earpiece to hear the caller.

:( The ringer is a bit low.

Not many negatives other than the support thing. I love that phone.

That's a pretty quick and undetailed response that focused more on form because it is the same OS after all....but I hope it helps.

I have a SPV E-100and a Mitac 8380.

So ...

My verdict is :

Get a Mitac 8380 it is MUCH faster, and battery life is a little better.

Speakerphone works better.

The APPS suplied with the mitac are full versions, unlike the trials supplied with the E-100

The Mitac comes with Phone Backup--- very usefull

The Mitac comes with Jmms, much much much better than the SMARTMMS

as supplied with the E-100. Though even this is far from perfect.

Radio signal reception is much better on the Mitac, and the Mitac finds a lost signal a great deal quicker than the E-100

MMS messages do send quicker with the Mitac |(must be down to signal quality)

The Mitac comes supplied with 2 batteries - VERY IMPORTANT

The leather belt clip supplied with the Mitac is rubbish it broke easily.

The E-100 belt clip is totally unbreakable

Now you can see why after only having my E-100 for 10 days I purchased a Mitac at considerable expence.

I did luv my E-100 but it was lacking in several areas - mainly speed & signal quality.
