clock settings all to pot

i've already posted about this problem in bugtrack but had no response so thought i'd try here.

basically after going on holiday i've got an alarm set for half seven greek time which is half five uk time, which i hardly need add is proverbially unpleasant. i can't access this alarm, it doesn't appear in settings (i have one set for a more humane time in settings, which works ok). is there any way i can disable this extra alarm short of a hard reset? ocs have promised a sim update to reset my settings but it hasn't arrived yet and they didn't sound too confident anyway.

A few of us have had this before. The solution is to change the alarm time to 5.30 and then toggle alarm to off. That should clear it.

Cheers. I did try to do a search but i got a blank screen so i figured that search wasn't working. Thanks again. ;)

er, i'm not convinced that method worked. can't be sure because i actually had to get up at 0530 today, but i'm sure i cancelled the alarm twice. anything else i can do?

I'm not 100% sure if this where the data is kept but if you look under LOCAL_MACHINE/Soffware/Microsoft/Clock in Registry Editor there a four keys called 0,1,2 & 3. Key 0 contains values AlarmFlags, AlarmHandle and AlarmTime and 1,2 & 3 are usually empty.

It's worth checking to see what you have in these keys.

There's nothing in those keys. The SIM Update from OCS hasn't arrived, that was the second attempt, I'll keep trying to get the SIM update on the off chance it works. Hope I don't have to do a hard reset, really don't want to spend an hour getting it back how I like it. :|

Here's how I fixed it on mine.

Change your time zone to the one you were in while in Greece.

Then shut off the alarm.

The change the time zone back to your local zone.

That worked just fine for me.

I had an alarm set on my new phone and I didnt notice that the timezone was set to Hong Kong which by coincidence is 12 hours difference. Since I am using an American Time format...I couldn't even tell as I was not showing AM or PM.

When I switched the zone to GMT-5(EST) I didnt change the alarm and I had the same problem as you. The fix above did the trick! ;)

Thanks for that, i'll have a go at that method. I'll let you know if it works.

I'm sorry to say that every time I tried to change settings the phone completely locked up. I've now done a hard reset, it's going to take me ages to get the phone back to how it was, but I've got rid of some of the crap that was on there. ;) All those trial things that don't remove/delete properly... I'm now back to <50% IPSM usage and the phone is faster. Off to do the speed tweaks again...
