VPN with Mio 8380 + Installing software

Hey guys,

Bear with me. Although I have been using pretty much every single CE device since CE 1.0 on my Compaq 120, the Smartphone OS, although familiar, is new to me.

Yesterday I took the plunge and bought a Mio 8380. Got delivered today. Great phone/toy!

Just two questions:

1. Some software I got at Handango (trials), I can install fine. Some I cannot. It says "Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have adequate permissions. Please contact your service provider for more information.". I read on the web these phones are locked, you cannot install stuff etc. But my phone worked fine with my Rogers AT&T wireless (I am in Ottawa) SIM and I can install many apps. Some I cannot at all. That is why I think my phone is unlocked (as I can use it and install some apps). Why I cannot install other apps?

2. That is the tough question. How can I sync to my laptop at home through my VPN? I have a VPN server running Windows 2003. I could sync using my PocketPC. How can I do that using the phone? I created a VPN connection but I have no idea how to make the phone sync using this connection over GPRS. And I could not find any HOW-TO for this.

These are my two main issues at the moment. Other than that the phone is really impressive.
