Guest blackhorse Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Just got a replacement E100 this morning, as previous one went walkies in town! When i opened the replacement package, i found what Orange call the SIM UI card. I found its got loads of contact information for Orange on it (not that is needed as E100 comes programed wid loads of that rubbish!) It stores up to 10 groups for multi texting. Can store 200 contacts finally ahem 20 sms!! wohoo! ;) Anybody know of anything else this new little blue chip does? I think thats probably it! :D (im gonna get flamed now that this sim has been available for months knowing me!!)
Guest Bazz Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Don't really use the SIM at all anymore as I store it all on the phone. What's the point of storing anything on the SIM anymore? 90 (or even 200) contacts with 1 number each? Pointless. Only 10 (or even 20) SMSes? Pointless.
Guest blackhorse Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 To people like us with personal computers in ur pocket i can see this been a very pointless inclusion but to ye everyday folk on ur box standard phone it may help?! ;)
Guest amo Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 This new "upgraded" sim card has been available a while now, it is simply pre enabled with the appropriate sim updates to allow mms and wap access by default. Older handsets such as the Nokia 3310 (for example) didnt have wap or mms, but when somebody bought a new phone and placed their old simcard into the new (mms and wap capable) phone the services wouldnt work as theyre settings are not enabled on the sim. so, all customers will be getting the new sims sent out to them to use with all the money making, i mean feature packed services (*cough*) already enabled ;). That and the increased memory...
