Guest dal_l Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Hi Juz installed MVP on my Mitac .... but it couldn't find the MP3 files stored on my SD ... mediaplayer is doing fine though. Is the MVP only for SPV?
Guest Xander Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 The MP3s need to be in the Storage CardMy Documents folder.
Guest dal_l Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 ok ... but on the Mitac, the system named it as SDMMC and not Storage Card .. could this be the problem?
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 Yeah that's a problem. I don't no about pocket_mvp but pocketscumm doesn't work on mitac cuz that the path to the games is "storage card". And you can't change the config file to MMCSD disk cuz the config file is "hard coded". And I think it's the same with pocket_mvp!!!

Any chance the author will change the config file to point to SDMMC .... I just have to try this great software ....
Guest muff Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 the source code is on his site, so you could always recompile it yourself
Guest dal_l Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 the source code is on his site, so you could always recompile it yourself .... if I am technically inclined to do it .. I would but I am not equipped to do so. Anyone can help? ;)
Guest malloc Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Just saw this thread, I'll recompile it, adding the new path. Could someone confirm the spelling : "SDMMC" I'd love to see what kind of frame rate the mitac could achieve ;) Thanks Malloc

Guest sabio_proeliat Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Yeah that's correct it's SDMMC disk.
Guest malloc Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Ok I've added this path to the list of searched directories. You can download the patch here : patch Just replace the file on your phone, and it should work ;) Please give some feedback on how it works on this phone, I'd buy a Mitac, only if it can handle some smooth divx playback :D malloc
Guest dal_l Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 Ok .. Juz installed the patch and now it can 'see' the mp3 files in my SD card! Thanks Malloc .... I will try some Divx and post back here ... any recommendations?
Guest maxh2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 Malloc, am I right in thinking that the source code available at http://www.angelfire.com/alt/spv-soft/pocketmvp_8r.rar is for beta 3, and therefore doesn't contain the bugfixes present in version beta 3e? Or the Mitac fix for that matter? If so, is there any chance of refreshing the source code ZIP file? I wanted to try compiling my own version but there doesn't seem a lot of point if the bugfixes aren't present... Thanks for a top port of a top app, btw... ;)
Guest dal_l Posted September 27, 2003 Report Posted September 27, 2003 Downloaded some clips from ClintEastman and it's soooooo smooth!! No skip, no pause ... It just kept playing! It's nice to have a XScale ;) but .............. I can't control the backlight .... the max time-out on the Mitac is 60 secs. Pressing "7" doesn't work either ......
