Guest marcdale Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Here is a little app I put together to allow you to use sounds on your storage card. You must have a .wav for line1, line2, sms, email & voice mail. Please read the instructions, it's pretty straight forward & quick. Let me have any feed back. Please make a donation if you like this. Showing support will make me want to do more for you. Even if it's just £1 it's better than nothing. Thanks for your support Marc
Guest marcdale Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Only want to change your Line 1 sound location? Only want to change your Line 2 sound location? Only want to change your SMS sound location? Only want to change your Email sound location? Only want to change your Voice Mail sound location? Prefer to to use a .wav in a directory that already exists? Do you use .mid files instead of .wav files? For a donation of £5 I will create a custom .cab file just for you. Download the .zip file, drop me an email and we can sort the details out from there.

Guest jamesh Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 How bout tones on SD card for individual contacts.
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 nice! but does it work exactly like the recently released Smart Tones (Changer Sonneries before) ? ;)
Guest marcdale Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 nice! but does it work exactly like the recently released Smart Tones (Changer Sonneries before) ? ;) I'm not sure my friend. That sonneries thing wasn't so good for me as I know about as much french as my cat. I'm sure it's good and i'm sure it works, but it's not for me. I guess everyone designs their stuff in a certain way. What I wanted to acheive is a .cab file that I could keep on my Storage Card and when I ever have been fiddling with the settings in my profile e.g. volume, vibrate etc. straight after that I just run the cab file and it's using my pre set ring tones on the Storage Card again. If you want to change your ring tone you can just rename your existing ring tone and put a differnt one it it's place on Storage Card. It's all about ease of use, no messing, no settings etc. A very small initial set up and then your done.
Guest marcdale Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 How bout tones on SD card for individual contacts. Hi, Thanks for your feed back. I will have a go at doing this at some point. I just need to get more feed back from different people first. So far I have seen :- Tweaks that require you to change the registry Tweaks that use a new profile (but don't allow a Line2 ring tone) A french thing which I couldn't understand Or mine, you set up a dir on or card and run the .cab file. So you have to take your pick from whats available. Can you tell me. do you use a program at the moment that allows you to select a specific ring tone for one of your contacts, all be it from the phone not the card?
Guest marcdale Posted September 20, 2003 Report Posted September 20, 2003 Ok, a slight name change this time. With V1.2 it now also moves your mail file on to your Storage Card thus clearing up more space. So this is now more of a 'directory' changer than a 'tone' changer. Please read the instructions carefully especially if you have emails, text & sent mail etc. that you want to keep. As ever, donations speak louder than words. Your now able to use good quality, longer ring tones as well as saving space on your phone. You can also save all of your sent mail & text and never clear out your inbox and you don't even have to worry about it, as well as clearing a huge (relatively speaking) amount of space, which seems to speed up your phone which inscreases your productivity. That's got be worth a tiny donation!Marc Dale's - Directory Changer V1.2.zip
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Nice work ;) I'll give it all a go when I get time, as for SMS and emails being moved, good job people have wanted this for a while now :D
Guest Thurstan Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 I'd like to use the mail/sms storage feature, but while this app is in its early stages I'm happy with using 'ChangerSonneries' for my SD ringtones as it allows you to change them without renaming the files, etc. So my question is, can I install this app and use it just for the mail storage or will it affect my ringtones functionality? If so, Marc, it might be worth making two separate apps available so people can choose which one they install. Cheers in advance
Guest jamesh Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 No am not using any software, but everytime I select a custom ringtone for specific contacts, it searches the phone for tones on settings, sounds only not on sd card where I have tons of ringtones as wav files.
Guest jamesh Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 I am using Directory tweaks for putting my sms, mails into sd card. If I install your application, will it not conflict with the directory change I already made?
Guest DMF Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I found that this program clashed with the mod for the speaking keypad.... heres how i got around it. Open the registry editor: HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelSoundsRingTone0 Select 'Values' Select 'Sound' and change the Value Data: Storage Cardpath to wavwavname (eg. Storage CardRingtonesring.wav) Just load your favorite wavs onto your storage card in a dir called ringtones, and just rename the file as you want to change it using Smart Explorer. Tune1.wav Tune2.wav Tune3.wav ring.wav If i want to change my tone to Tune 2 i do the rename so I have the following: Tune1.wav ring.wav Tune3.wav Tune4.wav You need never goto your settings screen again nor the registry ;) - Appologies to MarcDale, but it really is that simple.. if youre not interested in the talking keypad, then I suggest MarcDale's program as its very flexible, and you cant really argue for a fiver :D
Guest jamesh Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 I can select Individual ringones for each contact from the sd card but when the fone rings, it still used the one set at line 1 on Smarttones.
