HELP NEEDED!!! My phone won't respond anymore, VERY WEIRD..

Afternoon all,

I've got a kinda weird problem at the moment.. My phone worked just fine yesterday, but when I turned it on about 20 mins ago it asks for my SimPin, I enter it and then goes to my homescreen.

Problem is

- It seems to find some network eventually (from the network bars at the top right), but doesnt display the name orange or even anything else in the homescreen

- When I press one of the numerical key buttons it goes to my contacts list (wich is completely empty for some reason), but also doesn't display the number I press, nor give the sound for that key (thanks to midnight) (it does recognise the numbers when entering my simpin)

- When I press contacts directly from my homescreen (right softkey) it does nothing and just stays on the homescreen.

- When someone calls me it recognisez the number, I see the name of the contact. but If i don't answer and I get 1 missed call on my homescreen click on that to check my missed calls it's empty.

- I do get an SMS wich states wich number called but didn't leave a msg though.

- I can't select a different mode for the sound (stuck in silent mode now, when I choose anything else it selects it, I press ready but nothing happends)

- when i go to a menu in settings or whatever I get only the fields in wich a value can be changed.. For example in settings-homescreen I get the four values I can change (color scheme, background etc etc) but they're all lined up beneath one another without explanation of what they mean (for example it now says (exactly like this, no other txt values):

BasicLightText < >

Orange < >

Velvet_XP < >

600000 < >

I can change those values but can't save the changes... even if I dont change anything and press ready I just get a message it can't save my settings anyways..

There are probably more things wrong, but Like I said I just found out about this this afternoon and haven't meddled too much since I've tried every possible method I could think of....

I'm hoping someone knows what the hell is going on, I haven't changed anything in the registry, or installed or removed anything in the last 4 days, just added some movies and mp3's to my sd card on occasion, but it worked fine untill this morning...

Now I have to bring it back to have it repaired tuesdays anyways (the casing is broken, dunno how), so I was planning on backing up my IPSM dir before taking it back, but now I'm not sure if I might also backup this weird error with it..

Any thoughts on what the hell happened to my SPV?

have you tried taking the battry off for a while. this can sometimes help.

Ok tried that now.. (although the phone was turned off for the whole night). Im gonna wait till 2 pm so it's been off then for 50 mins... will report back if it helped..

Saddly to no avail... problem's still the same...

The only advice I can give is to do a Hard Reset ;)

Unfortunately this means resetting the phone to the "out of the box" state so you will need to decert again.
