Guest dshaugney Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Do you think the SPV is too "fat" to carry in your jeans pocket? I'm curious how people carry their SPV. I've seen the E100 dummy in phone shops and it seems a little bulky to carry in your trouser pocket. I'm thinking of upgrading from Siemens SL45i - thinner and lighter than the E100. Trivial question, I know, but how do you carry your SPV?
Guest mcwarre Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Personally I carry it with my hands; a marvellous invention!
Guest beersoft Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 my spv is in my pocket, next to my pack of silkcut ;) or my coat pocket. never in the stupid case what it came with, (phone on belt, noooo!! ) its not as huge as some of the older phones later Owen "HI im owen, i have not moaned at orange for 3 days"
Guest dshaugney Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 @ mcwarre  that also works.
Guest ranzz Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 umm, concerning that "phone on pocket" (:D) solution, you guys think I can actually run with it on my belt? on the pants I mean, naturally I don't run with a belt ;) is the clip hard enough?
Guest Crispy Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 I normally glue mine to the side of my head with superglue ... ... or did I just put it in my pocket? ... I don't really know ;)
Guest dogbomb Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 In my right hand side pocket... away from my keys. I wear baggy trousers though.
Guest cyrilthefish Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 It's a little thicker, but it's not enough to be noticable (2-3mm thicker) If the SL45 fits in your pocket, the SPV will toospv-sl45.jpg
Guest dshaugney Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Yay! Thank you. That was extremely helpful. ;)
Guest morpheus2702 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Never had a problem with the belt case myself - always kept my T68i in my shirt top pocket but got scratched to hell... my E100 is in perfect condition
Guest gevans2000 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 I've found the best place to carry the orange SPV is in the side pocket (halfway down the leg) of carpenter jeans - perfect size, won't get scratched by keys etc and easy to get at. I do however live in my jeans prety much all the time - so if you can't wear jeans at times then this is probably of very little help ;)
Guest yoos Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 I actually like the case that came with it. that's what I use.
Guest stuartd Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 In a Krusell leather case, hooked onto my trousers/jeans
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 it never occured to me how many people ad the SL45, i really thought i was one of a few !?! That was in my opinion, the first of the smartphones.
Guest fozzie Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 In a Krusell leather case, hooked onto my trousers/jeansNever had a problem with the belt case myself..... That's soooo 90's. I suppose it helps balance the car keys hooked on the opposite pocket ;)
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Check out Cyrils pic - he's got "greenfingers lol" ;) SpaceCowboy
Guest stuartd Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Erm, my pockets are full enough already ;) That's soooo 90's. I suppose it helps balance the car keys hooked on the opposite pocket :D
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Erm, my pockets are full enough already ;) Yup, theres always one lol
Guest morpheus2702 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Heheh, well I was never a fashion victim and prefer not to have a bulge in the wrong places! Are thin pink ties and rolled up sleeves on suit jackets still the in thing?
Guest beersoft Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 yep, you have to have white linen suit with light blue lining, sleves rolled up, loud shirt, tie optional, big bufont hair with highlights, and drive a white sport car. you phone should also come with a breaseblock sized battery + housebrick sized handset, weigh 4+ Kg's and have SPV style talk time of 20 min's, losing 95% of all calls, unless made from the top of the cell site i live in miami vice land, give me bikini babes and a yacht. later Owen long live the 80'S
Guest morpheus2702 Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 I have the white Testarossa convertable and a pet alligator, natch! Oh hold on, a Phil Collins track is starting in the background... I better start gazing at the horizon or something. ;)
Guest Palindrome Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Well, I have a leather case, which I put in my pocket with a belt lasso thingie that clips to my belt. Safe and comforable.
Guest beersoft Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 damn, i want my 80's cop show channel on sky today on the unemployed channel 14:00 the a team 15:00 knight rider 16:00 street hawk 17:00 miami vice 18:00 manimal 19:00 the fall guy 20:00 naked chicks poll dancing special - for the poor people not in the pub 23:00 the dukes of hazard 00:00 hot naked chicks in mudd wresting fun 05:00 job finder with cool 70's funk music back on topic, the worst place to put your phone is either in your pants or back pocket, it will smell/get crushed when you sit down(not the phone) or break when you sit on it later Owen "me, me, me, i have far too much time on my hands"
Guest cyrilthefish Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 it never occured to me how many people ad the SL45, i really thought i was one of a few !?! That was in my opinion, the first of the smartphones. The SL45 was way ahead of it's time ;) It was one of the first phones to be able to play mp3's (up to a 128mb mmc card supported) a lot of PDA funtions (calendar, sync with outlook, ect) And with an firmware upgrade (more fun if you did it yourself), one of the very first (if not the first, i can't quite remeber) java-compatable phones for downloadable games (and the MMC card gave you near unlimited space for the games too) I was extremely dissapointed to find out siemens weren't releasing a MS smartphone. But i consider the Orange SPV series to be a worthy continuation on phone-sized PDAs :D (though i feel siemens could of made far more durable MS smartphones if they wanted, the SL45's aluminium-coated shell was near indestructable)
Guest cyrilthefish Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 Check out Cyrils pic - he's got "greenfingers lol" ;) Hey! thats my parents stuff
