Guest ddieter Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 Hello, I would like to unlock my phone to use it to its full potential. However, I'm a little confused about which method to use. Should I use the official Orange unlock method, or the Smartphone ROM patch executable file? Which one is the easiest to use? Will any of them void the Orange Care warranty? If so will they be able to tell at Orange whether you've app unlocked your phone through the network? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers.
Guest Will Posted September 22, 2003 Report Posted September 22, 2003 the OTA method is the safest method, and orange do log your details, AFAIK this does not affect warrantee/care. But their site says this is for DEVELOPERS. So you take your own risk.. (I know a LOT of people who do not even have the SDK installed, who have happily unlocked phones.) I have unlocked phones, and have had care replacements... Will
