Hi all well this is my first post. Ive had my phone 2 weeks and have been reading lots of posts so i dont seem to much of a noob:) . Anyways i love my emulators and have been reading things on topics saying that etc the gnuboy emu is slow because the phone is too slow.....RUBBISH. I own a gp32 which is based around 133mhz processor and has only 8 meg ram and i can currectly play the following emus "full speed" ATARI ST, GAMEBOY,DOOM1&2,NES AND SNES AT 90% At the start of the gp32 scene emus were very slow but as people "played" with the code more we eventually ended up with everything full speed. Doom was originally 50mhz and ran full speed with sound on the gp32 now its att 133mhz and is erm too fast with everything maxed sound etc. All im saying is that we shouldnt totally write off the phone for better emus. Hopefully i wont get flames im just expressing my views ;)

Here is a good link to a gp32 site http://gp32.emu.pl/

The "rewriting of emulator software" has also been discused ... Some of the programming brains around here pointed out that if the code was completely rewritten in asembly it might be posible.

And another thing: You can't just compare the two system because they both run at 133mhz. The phones are not designed to be gaming pads... but phones! ... The bus speeds and archetectures are comepletly different.

Welcome to the site Jimmy.

I think the main gripe about the processor speed is seeing the 'magic eggtimer' on the screen. I mean tonight I was just composing a SMS and the damn thing comes up!

I read somewhere that this was unforgivable for a mobile phone. And even though I've learnt to live with it, knowing that decent XScale processors have been available for some time makes me think its time the SPV family had one. (Hey, who ever heard of Mio before the Mio?)

Mono swears blind we will see more that 132MHz with the SPV C200! Here's hoping.
