Hi

Not much help as my irda won't play today.

Try rebooting the lopdog, sometimes IRDA breaks and needs a reboot to fix it

so you just send it. you dont need to put any software onto the laptop to make the laptop recieve it?

Hi

If the pc has the little irda icon in the task bar, it will recive any file you send it from another idra device.

so you if you have that, you should have no problem getting it to recive a file.

when i get round to needing to reboot my pc again i will test it for you ;)

1. Make sure you have the IRDA icon on your task bar next to the clock

this indicates that your IR receive "should" be working"

2. If you are using an USB IRDA device with Windows XP make sure that Windows is using the drivers as supplied with your device, sometimes XP get too "clever" and installs its own drivers. Having installed its own driver it will then report the IRDA is working, when in fact it is not. :x

3. Not all IRDA devices work with all phones ;)
