Guest Crispy Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 hai®"]Hi, thanks for the reply... well, do anyone know about the chinese http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?t=714>plug-in which will enable the SPV to read chinese characters? Basicly I would'n think that its posible to do that. The chineese Dopod phone was given extra ram to handle the larger amount of chraracters, so trying to force it onto a normal 16MB SPV might either be imposible or make the phone insanely slow!

The Mitac Mio 8380 was bundled with an installer called CStar. I think that'll give your chinese language if you can find it.
Guest bamboo Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 The Mitac Mio 8380 was bundled with an installer called CStar. I think that'll give your chinese language if you can find it. Actrully I had tried the Cstar, it doesn't work alone in my Orange SPV. After I installed the Cstar, the SPV keeps restarting again and again after the Smartphone 2002 screen comes up. So I had to hard reset my phone. I read a post from a Taiwan forum, it says cStar needs another programme inside the SD card come with the Mitac Mio 8380 run first to Chinese-localized the smartphone. But, how can I have that SD card?
Guest chenxigood Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 sounds interesting i want to get the plug in ,too
