Guest LDR Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 I have just got myself a new E100, and am having fun with the skins and games etc. I would like to put some nice midi tones on there to but am having some trouble. I got some cool ones from this site like Airwolf, Simpsons, and Indiana Jones. But they refuse to work, all they do is beep at me. Now i understand from reading this forum that the E100 will only support midi 0, how do you tell if files are midi 1 or midi 0? Does this mean i can't play these cool ringtones? And can only use the terrible beepy other midi tones? Will the E100 be ever able to play midi 1 files? I hope so. I'm sure i read on various sites that this phone had polyphonic tones. Another question is how to exit programs. No where does it say. Some have a separate menu with exit on, but most don't, how do i close these? Do i just press the HOME button, or will the programs still be running in the background? Hope someone can help. Thanks.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 The Phone can play .wav files midi0 the saying here is why play an imitation sound (polyphonic) when you can play the original ;) To end apps that do not have an exit option just press the back button. Thay will stay in the background but should not use any CPU time.
Guest LDR Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Thanks for that. I realise it can play wavs, though the speaker seems to have a bit of troule giving the sound some distortion, which is why polyphonic would be better. Thanks for the tip on closing. One more thing is there any way to play MP3s as ringtones, to save on space? Also Internet Explorer is quite disappointing, will Opera, Thunderhawk or any other good browser be coming out on the E100? I wouldlike to see the whole site shrunk down, not scrolled? Thanks. LDR

LDR No and no ;) But on the phone you can view the site as smartphone enabled from http://mobile.modaco.com
Guest mortenharkett722 Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 I read somewhere that it is possible to make midi1 play on spv or tanager as long as there is a program that would be written for it
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 24, 2003 Report Posted September 24, 2003 Never heard that before :? But anything is possible if the code can be written.
