Intel presents the Universal Communicator SmartPhone

At the Developers forum Intel presented the Universal Communicator. It's a prototype of an advanced SmartPhone with the following features:

- XScale Processor

- GSM / GPRS / Wi-Fi (!)

- Telesym Symphone for simultanous GSM/Wi-Fi roaming

- SD slot

- Kodak NuVue OLED screen (AM OLED = Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. That means a very sharp screen, viewable from any angle)

- Fastap keypad

I don't think design was what Intel were showing, it's just a platform for the featureset.

No mention of VoIP, or is that what the Symphone feature is for?

those pictures looks strange, the home key is above the "Red Phone key" and the "back key" is above the "green phone key"

So not only have Home and Back switched place, but also they have moved up above the "Call keys"

I prefer the initial Intel Referance phone I saw in April.

For reference, I think the Gameboy Advance or SP sports an OLED screen.
