Guest someone Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 At the Developers forum Intel presented the Universal Communicator. It's a prototype of an advanced SmartPhone with the following features: - XScale Processor - GSM / GPRS / Wi-Fi (!) - Telesym Symphone for simultanous GSM/Wi-Fi roaming - SD slot - Kodak NuVue OLED screen (AM OLED = Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode. That means a very sharp screen, viewable from any angle) - Fastap keypadUniversal Communicator.jpgIUC.jpg
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Not sure on the design :?
Guest Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I don't think design was what Intel were showing, it's just a platform for the featureset. No mention of VoIP, or is that what the Symphone feature is for?
Guest NederSoren Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 those pictures looks strange, the home key is above the "Red Phone key" and the "back key" is above the "green phone key" So not only have Home and Back switched place, but also they have moved up above the "Call keys"
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I prefer the initial Intel Referance phone I saw in April.
Guest Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 For reference, I think the Gameboy Advance or SP sports an OLED screen.
