Bug: Modem communication over USB and IRDA unstable

SYMPTOM:

Modem communication of IRDA with XP Home Edition can be unstable, and difficult (if not impossible) to initiate. Drivers for the USB modem communication system are invalid, and not detected by Windows.

RESOLUTION:

Discussed at length elsewhere in the forum.

To dial out on XP over IRDA. in the modem properties of the standard irda modem enter:

+cgdcont=1,"IP","apn","",0,0
