Guest ShakinPyramid Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 I have converted a sound to a .wav file and I understand that I need to enter it in the IPSM/Application Data/Sounds folder, but every time I try to do it, I'm told there is not enough space. HELP PLEASE
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 Welcome to the site ;) You are trying to put the file in the correct folder so the question is... How big is the file and how much storage space do you have? If you don't have a file explorer such as Smart Explorer or a Task Manager go to ProgramsSettingsAbout and see how much available storage you have left.
Guest ShakinPyramid Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 Thanks - that helps very much, but there is so little space on there.I had to get some audio edit software to shorten the sounds to fit them on there! Anyway, is there a way of getting rid of some of the stuff that came on the phone that i don't need. for instance, the countless ring tones. I have tried to delete them but it won't let me. i want to put more of my own ring tones on there?
Guest Richie M Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 you cant delete anything in the Windows folder as its part of the ROM Image. I suggest reencoding your wavs to a lower quality and in mono to reduce their size ;) BTW the countless ringtones you mention are MIDI files so they are only 1kb or so :D
