Guest ianesq Posted September 27, 2003 Report Posted September 27, 2003 greetings! paminsan minsan lang naman ito nangyayari pero nagyayari. i downgraded my bootloader from 1.04 to .98, removed battery then back them powered on to canary screen then read the unlock code. downgraded the rom to 1.3 then removed the battery then back on then powered on. it stops at the smart amazing phone screen. tried hard reset, upgrade to 1.5, update to 1.3 but to no avail. this does not happen to all the phones. i've encountered it 3 times already and i'm wondering why it happens br ianesq
Guest wolfman Posted September 28, 2003 Report Posted September 28, 2003 if you are still able to the canary screen then you are still safe. I would suggest that you apply the Qtek 150 upgrade. This will bring your phone back to life and an unlocked one at that!
Guest ianesq Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 thanx for the tip bro! will try it and post results. btw, any idea how to copy phone rom to mmc card? i can only copy the boot rom but seem to have problems with wince, gsm, etc. it displays 'wait for check' after copying and it doesn't exit. br ianesq
Guest wolfman Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 @ ianesq why would you want to copy the ROM image?
Guest grifter Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 @ianesq, search the pinoy thread (qtek rom topic). mlkanapi posted how to copy the wince and gsm modules into an mmc/sd card.
Guest dinoalbert Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 i believe its possible if you have a 0.93 bootloader... may ganong option. Tama, ask mlkanapi .
Guest mlkanapi Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 @ ianesq, What is the size of the card you are trying to copy the phone's contents to? I used a 128 Mb SD card but I'm sure this is too big. One word of advice is be patient. Sometimes you think that it has hang but the process took me about 15 minutes. Check out the thread where I posted some screenshots of the procedure. PM me is you want to coordinate but include your cell phone number as I am not always on the net.
Guest ianesq Posted October 4, 2003 Report Posted October 4, 2003 greetings! thanks for all your replies mga bossing. @wolfman i upgrade or downgrade for unlocking purposes. when i power-up the phone, there are instances (happened 3x already) that the phone would stop at 'smart amazing phone' screen. i can't repair this even i flash it with 1.3 or 1.5. when this happens, i would go to smart wireless center to have it reprogramed. what they have is a 64mb mmc. they just insert it all rom is uploaded. so, thats why i want to make my own set so i can repair it myself whenever something goes wrong. @dinoalbert that bootloader is quite rare already but will try to search for grifter's advice. btw, i use usbterm to copy rom to the mmc. @mlkanapi i use a 64mb mmc. it's also the type smart wireless center uses. i was quite patient since i started copying at about 9pm, woke up at 6am and sure enough ...'wating for check'. will pm you kung ayaw pa rin ma copy and rom. br ianesq

This is because the bootloader is the one preventing you to run SPVunlock successfully.
Guest ianesq Posted October 4, 2003 Report Posted October 4, 2003 @wolfman but, like what i said, if something goes wrong i have to go to the wireless center to have it fixed. atleast with the entire rom in the mmc, i can repair it anytime. hasle na sa customer, iisipin pa nila na di ko alam ang ginagawa ko. br ianesq
Guest lesteryo Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 how dou you downgrade your rom? i mean wat do you have to backup? is there a donwloadable file of rom 1.3.7.8?
Guest rodnav Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 @listeryo welcome to modaco. please try reading through the FAQs section, most of the answers to your early queries are there. and here at the pinoy forum there's the "How to... Repository" containing detailed in instructions on some of the more mundane things you can do with your phone such as downgrading ROMs, CLICK ME to go the thread. by the way, you need to check what version of the ROM you are using (programs>settings>about). if it's 1.6, downgrading is not yet 100% effective.
