Stuck on boot screen - what causes it???

OK, I have had my SPV for about 6 months. I never had to hard reset unless it was something I did (i.e. change ROM or mess with the registry), now my phone is stuck in the I-Mate boot screen (doesn't get to the smartphone screen). I am about to do a hard reset :-( which sucks, but I would really like to know if anyone knows what causes this... The only things that I did recently was change from the O ROM to the I-Mate ROM a few weeks ago and install the full Echo Voice Recorder software. I am sure it may not be the actual software itself, but when I was recording with the recorder at the highest quality I could see that 99% of the memory was being used through X-Bar. Usually, when no apps are running I have about 40% memory being used. I decided to stop the recording and then power off/on and that's when it got stuck. The ONLY things that were running on my phone other than the stuff that is standard on the ROM were Echo and X-Bar.

Anyone think it has to do with the high percentage of memory usage? Or because I reboot it right after the high memory usage? Or the I-Mate ROM? Or the updated bootloader (1.07.4)?

I'm going to hard reset and then downgrade my bootloader to .9X (I think I have .93 on an SD) to see how that works out...

Oh yea, one more thing I forgot, which I just did today for the first time since I've had the phone.... I enabled the email auto syncronize (once daily). Not sure if that has anything to do with it??

Getting stuck on the sunset screen is caused by the os becomming corrupt and not being able to do a self repair ;)

One question, after installing the I-Mate ROM did you do a hard reset?

If not you should have really as some info etc will stilll be on the phone from the previous update.

This may be the reason to your problems.

ok most people forget or just don't bother.

And High memory use can cause problems when it appears to lock-up

with the dial spinning etc, pulling the batter can cause the sunset screen as well.
