Guest martin Posted September 28, 2003 Report Posted September 28, 2003 StuntMonkey Yep, thats the Vodafone PAYT settings. I haven't tried my Vodafone PAYT SIM for ages but it was working OK last time I used it. I'll set it up on my SPV again tomorrow to make sure. You have definately set the Internet Connection to Vodafone GPRS and are using http:// in all your Internet addresses ? You should be able to connect to all Internet & wap sites using HTTP. Maybe try deleteing ALL existing GPRS data (including Orange) and re-creating the Vodafone data.
Guest StuntMonkey Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Still can't get the settings to work.
Guest martin Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Hi StuntMonkey This morning I blew the cobwebs of my Vodafone PAYT SIM, stuck it in my SPV, setup GPRS and it worked  Not sure why yours is failing :? Do you get a top centre G displayed when your phone is switched on ? If not then GPRS needs activated on your account. If you do get the centre G then make sure that the APN is pp.vodafone.co.uk and not pp.vodaphone.co.uk To get GPRS working all I did was create a GPRS connection. Description: Vodafone GPRS Connects to: The Internet Access point: pp.vodafone.co.uk User name: wap Password: wap In Data Connections set 'Internet Connection: Vodafone GPRS' In Internet Explorer set 'Select Network: The Internet' (you can also untick auto detect settings) You should then be able to access internet sites i.e http://www.google.com Note: you probably won't be able to access vodafone live site with the SPV If it still won't work then you could try asking Vodafone CS to re-activate GPRS on your account.
Guest StuntMonkey Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Thanks for checking yours out. I have had my SIM card for close to 4 years now so it's possible GPRS is not enabled. I will again recheck all the settings and give it another go as soon as I get some more credit. I'm temped to just get a new E200 on Orange contract so at least I can use my phone to it's fullest capabilities.
