Guest Greywolf_Ghost Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 In theory it sounds good. I will not rag on the hardware, that seems to be it's strong suit. I will however warn anyone to stray from the mainstream could lead to a world of disappointment !!! I will give you an example I got into the PDA user arena not knowing much. I bought a Casio BE 300 on price alone. Casio BE 300 $299 CDN closest Pocket PC at the time $499 ( pre xscale ) It seemed like a good idea Color screen, MP3 and video ready CF slot and Windows CE 3.0, but it was a major disappointment one month in as I learned alot of the Windows CE api was not supported ( for non tech heads, Windows CE software would not run ). There was the promise from Casio soon Windows CE.Net would arive and add bluetooth support and a host of plus features....... A week before the Upgrade BSquare ( the GUI builder for Casio BE ), let it out that what was said to be added would not be available. I was lucky the epod hack worked on the BE 300 and more and more CE software opened thanks to a smart comunity and hard working coders who got a Win CE 2.11 Platform developer and leveled the playing feild. To the point now the BE 300 is fully able to run like a PPC 2000. In most cases a device like this will sell 10,000 units and die. You have to search far and wide for supported software. Watch and wait would be my advice....the grass may not be as green as you think on the other side.
Guest gspacedboy Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Expansys say that it is exclusive to them only!
