Shutdown on incoming call ?!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Just had a freaky problem for the second time.. Phone's lying on the table, call comes in, a garbelled up bit of the ringtone is heard and the phone is shutdown instantly !

I've had the QTEK rom for some time now so I don't expect that to be the cause.. Moved the ringtones from the storage card back to ipsm but it happened never the less (the storecard turns unreadable sometimes, also unusual for a brandnew Sandisk :? )

Anybody seen this before ?

Last app I installed was AIM's Identify.. was not running though the last time this strange problem arrised. Removed the app anyway just to see whether it has something to do with it..

Any and all pointers apreciated !

Not unusual as earlier in the year there was a dodgy batch of cards

doing the rounds :?

Was the battery charge level low?

Also if the card is not getting read sometimes try having a different card

in the phone for a while and see what happens.

Been testing a bit yesterdaynight. Battery level was indeed not much, one indicator left, batterystate said I had 27% power. But after I posted the initial message it crashed with every call !

I kinda ruled out the storage card in this matter because I reverted to using ringtones in IPSM only..

Anybody know whether this can be caused by a registry modification done by recently installed program or something in that direction ? (grasping at straws here..)

It is possible but if you are not sure what has been modified etc

the only final solution is to try a Hard Rest :? Only do that when you

are sure you have tried everything else.

I would imagine that it is/was due to the low battery level - the phones do get grumpy when low on power :?

Well isn't it very odd that this only happend since the day before yesterday ? I use the phone intensively all day long, so batterylevel is always that low late at night.. Never had this prob before though

probably a dodgy card

Try it with the card as supplied with the phone...

Like I said 2 posts earlier : I don't use the ringtones on the card anymore. And the problem persists with no card in the phone ! ;)

If the battery is charged and you have plenty of free Physical memory then I can only think of a Hard Reset :?

Well... It's working fine now.. I'll have to wait and see what happens tonight when battery is getting lower again.

I am having a hard time accepting this as the cause since it has not ever shown this behaviour in the past, low battery or not..

Damn, if i had al the time in the world to rebuild my ipsm I would hard reset the sucker right now.
