Guest NeilStewart Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 I've just bought an E100 on eBay. New. What is the likelihood of Orange transferring my Orange Care to it from my SPV (which I'm now selling)?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 They won't transfer it but you can take out a new contract. I asked the same question when I first had my E-100.
Guest NeilStewart Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 Oh, well actually that's not as bad as I thought! Thanks for your help - again!
Guest NeilStewart Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 UPDATE Just spoke to Orange - they absolutely, flatly refuse to issue Orange Care on this phone. 'It's basically a backdoor upgrade and we won't have anything to do with it'. I'll remember that when my contract is up for renewal. Remember, Orange, we have a choice.
Guest chucky.egg Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Orange Care sucks... I have Care on a phone I don't have anymore, but they wont cancel it, and they wont cover the phone I've got - so I'm paying them £5/month for nothing!
Guest NeilStewart Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Well, we all know where they can shove their Orange Care next time. Has anyone tried this lot? http://lower-my-bills.2u.co.uk/mobile-phone-insurance/

Did you agree to a 12 month contract and then decide to get rid of your phone? Can't really blame Orange for that. Would be nice if they did transfer to other phones but then would they have anything to gain as the phone did not come from them?
Guest NeilStewart Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Yes - I understand that I agreed to another 12 months airtime contract - and I intend to keep to that, but just not on that phone. When I bought that phone I was blissfully unaware that there was a better model due out 3 weeks afterwards (and wasn't warned, either) and having been an Orange customer for 7 years now, I didn't see why they couldn't transfer the Orange Care legitimately bought to a similar (albeit non-Orange purchased) phone. Surely the cover is there to ensure I can still use their network and use their airtime and therefore give them business? I was even offering to take out a new Care contract (i.e. paying twice for the cover) in lieu of the non-Orange purchased phone. Should something (God forbid) happen to this phone, I will reduce my payments to the very lowest possible, see out the contract using my spare 8310 and at the earliest opportunity move to O2 or Vodafone. A lost customer for the sake of pettiness on their part; and let's be honest, I've only ever claimed once on my Orange Care when my phone was stolen abroad, so I'm hardly a massive risk.
