SP 2003 and rom 1.5

I have a Dopod 515 with (chinese) Smartphone 2003, but with a rom version 1.2.3.7

Can I update the ROM without losing SP2003 with chinese ??

Nope and you may not be able to install 1.5 anyway as it probably not compatable.

I would say do it at your own risk but you may cause serious problems.

don't touch!!! U can kill the phone in the process!!! I killed few allready (of course fixed them back)

The Dopod and SPV (better say w2k3 and w2k2) have different memory maps!!!!!! And the upgrade software will not know what -> dead phone!!!

So be carefull, unless u wana brick ;)

I've noticed it. Some software doesn't work on Dopod because it doesn't have the IP??? something directory.

That is lazy programmers using absolute install references and not generic, eg install to IPSM, not install to %systemroot% or whatever it is.

If you can extract the install inf then it should be modifiable to run on other devices, either that or email the deveoper and moan.

Nope, 2003 is not available as an update - not yet anyway & its unclear as to whether it will be :?

I have another similar unit, but an eval unit. How about updating it with a commercial Smartphone 2002 release? Where can I download it? ;)
