+44 to 44 after XP reinstall

It seems that both ukpauls and I have both encountered a problem whereby when all of our contacts where sync'd back to Outlook from our phones after a reinstallation of XP and therefore Office XP they lost the plus (+) and therefore now all start with 44 as opposed to +44. This stops any calls from being made without the editing of the number in question which is very annoying and stops number recognition when an incoming call is being received... ;)

Ps. Both ukpauls and I where using different PC's.

Pps. Upon sync'ing after editing a phone number on my phone the plus (+) does NOT get sync'd to outlook so all of my numbers remain "plusless" in Outlook :D
