Guest beersoft Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 my gprs worked today (worked in the first time i try to connect it connects, shame my battery ran out ;) halfway through downloading my mail, its very strange, same time yesterday, in the same carpark space at sainsburys, same amount of signal, different pant/tie combo and it wouldn't connect at all. my offical stance on this is it works fine if i wear blue or red pants with my dark/light tie, but not if i wear the same tie and green or black pants. or another option, if i have BLT for lunch it doesn't work, but ham or cheese it does. im going to start charting all possible combos of pants, ties, sandwiches and carpark spaces to see if there is a link :D later Owen "look over there, now i shall post some waffle"
Guest Will Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 AHA, well I can add in here, ever since i have a goatee, i've had NO gprs dialling issues.. =D> Pants and tie color combo's are a misnomer, it's the hairyness of your face!!!;)/ The crucial question is did i just post to try out these new smileys???=; :-k Will
Guest Rob.P Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Who cares there cool smilies though (errrr, just to keep on topic) So I should be growing a goatee you say, what sort of stuble length are we talking? ;)
Guest morpheus2702 Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 I'm sorry, but I've always had a goatee and GPRS has always been crap... ...so maybe not having a goatee is the key?
Guest goinnuts Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 erm tried with and without. with until i had a shave this morning. both work fine :wink:. i think its a problem with how many sugars you have in your drink. i only had one this mornin jus stuck now. but worked before that withpout facial hair. :cry:
Guest morpheus2702 Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Place your bets as to which mod is going to lock this thread...
Guest Rob.P Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Prehaps if you have no sugar, cause I have 2 and mine keeps sticking, although I have had a stomach bug of late and been able to connect but not surf any pages, so can still use it as a modem for me lappy. If anyone wants the stomach bug to try PM me and I'll send it in a vial ;)
Guest Coucou Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 The real issue is a lack of trained slugs in your area at the time. These slugs carry bits of your signal to the nearest antenna and carry the responses back. Sometimes however the less well trained slugs get lost - you can see this if they're milling around on the pavement or all over your cabbages - and the GPRS (Gastropods Parcel and Relay Service) stops performing so well. The best solution to this is to feed the slugs inside your phone on cabbage and plenty of water. This may help increase your battery life as well - so don't delay, try it today! ;)
Guest morpheus2702 Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 So what you are really saying Cou is that for the next update, we should really be asking our local garden centre, rather than Orange? Hmmm, interesting thought!
Guest Coucou Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Ooh, a bit too off topic for a moderator there, but which one? Sorryy! 8-[
Guest Will Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 me!! i decided it needed splitting. But forgot to post!!! ;) forgive me!
Guest Coucou Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 that's why you're 'Moderator - Confused' then. :roll: Now what's this about Softcore?
Guest Will Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 Nothing to see, back away from the question.. BACK AWAY FROM THE QUESTION... =;

Don't laugh, I was on a recent OB when a slug decided to have a closer look inside the ISDN 2a box, bloody thing fried the circuitry. We had to do the first hour on a mono satellite a £6/min waiting for BT to turn up (and we moan about GPRS charges!)
