Guest Palindrome Posted October 1, 2003 Report Posted October 1, 2003 I have to say that my prefered method of reading text files has to be Orneta Reader and I am preparing myself to fork out some wonga for it but for one niggling point: There seems to be either a few words or letters missed out between pages. This occurs every two pages or so. Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried changing the font size and fiddling with the settings with no result. Could it be a text formatting problem?
Guest looeee Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Palindrome I had exactly the same problem and gave up one the program. Are you using a recent version? I read in their release notes that the bug you're describing has been 'fixed' although I can't confirm it. I tried every font size combination too! Have you tried Speed Reader Plus from mobiledynamo.com? I love it. looeee
Guest dogbomb Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 I use it and have never had this problem on the registered version. I am using Orneta Reader 1.05. My font setting are: Width: 4 Height: 11 Weight: Default
Guest Palindrome Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Is 1.05 the registered version? I downloaded the trial from Handango in case it had been updated. When I tried to uninstall the version of Orneta Reader my phone it said it could not be removed. I went to work with smart explorer and registry editor to manually delete all references to it only to find that some of the registry keys would not delete. At that point I reset my phone and was unable to uninstall or reinstall or even delete the registry keys. I then checked out the paths in the keys (those of the install and uninstall keys) only to find that the unistall paths lead to a temp file in the AppMgr directory of IPSM/Window that didn't exist. Annoying. I can't even reinstall the reader so I can uninstall it. So, my question: Does anyone know why some of the registry keys cannot be deleted and if there is a way to do this (I am positive that Orneta Reader is not running at the time of attempted deletion). I did see a previous thread like this with a different program which gave no answers but I am hopefull). When that problem is sorted I can then address trying to sort out the bug in Orneta Reader. It's never easy, is it!
Guest Palindrome Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Just did a hard reset. The solution to most of life's problems. Then installed the latest version (1.06) and all's well. Cheers for the responces people. ;)
