Guest frankwilliams Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 The process of Orange certification means that our SPV's won't currently get a wide variety of shareware that is available to other PDA's. As the certification doesn't cost very much (USD 150 to 300?), why doesn't someoen start a collection and ask a shareware creator if they can Orange certify their app if it is going to be useful to the majority of SPV users? 1000 users on this forum x $1 donation each = minimum 3 to 6 apps? Maybe this would be too crazy an idea...
Guest madu Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 You would have to set up a company and alll the accounts... And how/who decides what to certify? And what if it does not get certified?!? Money lost... And you would need to pay someone to get this all going - it takes time and effort.... AND we would make a sweeeeet enough life for O even sweeter.. Good shout though!!
Guest Will Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 just another take. Depending on the quality of the software being developed, i wonder if we could produce suites, of apps, and therefore cut down the certification price.. (ie i produce app x, you app y, him app z, then we get together, combine em all, then split 3 ways the cost of certification!) It's prone to faults/problems, but if you have a superb bug free app, and no $$$ it just might be worth considering. Will
