Views on backlight permanently on?

Does anyone have any views on having the backlight on permanently?

The registry tweaks provided by kyrkesmith - http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...light=backlight - will allow for this, but will having the backlight always on have a detrimental effect on the SPV (mines an E100) over time?

There's a battery life issue, obviously, if the phone is off-charge. But what if the phone is sat on my desk for several hours a day at work on the cradle?

Any views greatly appreciated.

there would certianly not be any damaging effects, it would just drain the batter faster..... but i have mine on charge at work most of the time anyway, it would only bother me on weekends. at the end of the day its up to you mate...
