Guest Petzy Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Hi When i have written my sms and then press the"send" button on my Qtek 7070 nothing happens. The sms does not send. It worked perfect until a few days ago. Have i messed with any settings in my phone or what? I can recive sms. And another thing - is there anywhere i can see exampels of nice homescreens, which i can download ? Exept for the few in the costumisation section here? And one more thing. Can i use mp3files as ringtones (without having to be a computerscientist do manage that)? I just got my phone and i´m still new at this, but i always get an "alert!" sign saying "You´re phone is short of storrage space, delite old... or something". But i don´t have anything dowloaded in the phone, no ring tones, no mp3´s, no movies... no nothing. I have quite a large number of contacts, but thats all. Do i really need to get myself a larger memorycard for this? If yes. 128 or 256? How much do one need? I´m thinking of, in the future, putting in some mp3´s in the phone. Thanks Petzy, stockholm Sweden
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 1, Try clearing some space on the phone, if you do not have enough free space on the phone it can prevent SMS being sent. have you installed a large ringtone recently? also when installing apps and games it's best to install tem to the storage card. 2, except for the few in Customisation  there are hundreds of homescreens there ;) 3, No you can only use .wav midi0 as ringtones 4, This is causing the problem in question 1 :D do you have a large ammount of emails and sms on the phone (sent, deleted and recieved)? if so try and permenatly delete them. or go to IPSMMAPI and delete the contents of the folder (this is the place where emails and sent SMS live. Regarding contacts unless you have quite a few hundred they should not be the cause of the space problem. Finally As for storage card the bigger the better
Guest pcheaven Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Virtually impossible for contacts to fill your memory I have a HUGE amount of contacts, and the data base is tiny. Check all applications you installed are on the SD card, if they are not remove them and reinstall onto SD. If your applications are on the sd card then you have a problem! So bite the bullet and do a hard reset and reinstall everything again. If after a hard reset you still get memory problems take the phone back to the store for exchange. As for ring tones, just put the WAV file etc in the IPSPapplication datasounds folder. You can do this easily from your pc using windows explorer. Note : anything in the IPSM folder will use up memory, but it is much easier than reconfiguring your phone to use ring tones in the SD card. I have tried that, and it did not work well for me. Just copy the ones you will actually use. You can put the ones that you "might" use on the SD card for later Hope this helps. ;) :D
Guest pcheaven Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Oh yeh. - forgot. WAV files only for ring tones not MP3. Easily fixed though. Just do a google search for a MP3 to WAV converter There are lots around
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 As for ring tones, just put the WAV file etc in the IPSPapplication datasounds folder. Close but not quite ;) A very important typo the sounds folder mut be labeled as Sounds (note the capital S) if you use lower case for the above folder it will not work. Also If you do not have a Sounds folder in IPSMApplication Data you need to create one.
