Guest Paul [MVP] Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 I know you're all suckers for info... so here's some. ;) This is all information that I have had confirmed from multiple sources... P - 'SPV 2' will be called the SPV E-200, not C200, SPV2 or anything else, E-200. - The SPV E-200 has a TI OMAP 710 processor, running at 206MHz - The Motorola MPx200 has a TI OMAP 710 processor, running at 132MHz - The Motorola prototype had a SA1100 processor, but Moto switched to the 710 because the SA1100 killed the battery life - how does 2 hours sound? - A smaller Motorola Smartphone, the MPx220 is under development, but is unlikely to appear in the near future. - An entry level Motorola Smartphone, the MPx100 is also under development, but there are no further details.
Guest kingdom master Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 does this mean its running, at 206mhz or underclocked like the spv? great news ;) thanks kingdom
Guest Simon Desser Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Paul, d'you think a "TI OMAP 710 processor, running at 206MHz" will kill the E-200's battery, bearing in mind what you just said about Motorola switching to a slower processor, and the battery life of SPV's/E100's is pretty poor with a slower processor :?:
Guest kingdom master Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 yiippee, looking forward to snes emul and other games running faster!!yippe!! whens this out again? thanks man kingdom p.s, you know i still never got that software from the first modaco meet, lol
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 It's in the Orange Retail catalogue for October, and the Orange Shops computer systems say Mid October, so not within the month it seems! P
Guest Crispy Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 "]The SPV E-200 has a TI OMAP 710 processor, running at 206MHz Respect goes to Orange for their creativity! - Actually running the chip at the speeds its capable of ... now, who came up with that stupid idea??? Well, can't with to get my hans on one anyway! ;)
Guest mavisdavis Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 ;) Got my pre-order in already. just not looking forward o the price tho
Guest kingdom master Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 goner ring orange tomorrow, they have already offered me a free p800 upgrade as i spend £400+ a month on bills, so i think i can get the e200 cheap;-) hee hee, cant wait!!!
Guest Gorskar Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 If that info is accurate (and its probably is as Paul is pretty reliable) then the e-200 will be my next phone no question about it ;) Everything you could wish for in one lovely phone. I just hope the battery can take it!
Guest rayloh Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 I'm confused, according to the TI website, the ARM925 processor in the OMAP710 platform only operates up to a maximum frequency of 132MHz: http://focus.ti.com/omap/docs/omapgenpage....oc/data/omap710 Did they overclocked to achieve 206MHz?
Guest yoos Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 I'm in the USA and I want one of these!! I'm looking forward to somehow getting one...
Guest Gorskar Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Are you certain its an OMAP710? Acording to their website that processor can only run up to 132mhz. If it was an OMAP1510 it would be capable of speeds up to 200mHz, and a 1610 or higher up to 204mHz
Guest Pagemakers Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 The Oct Orange mag says standby time of the e100 is 4 days and the e200 3 days ;) God help us if it's worse than the e100!!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Indeed, that's scary! Or maybe they're just realistic ;-) P
Guest gomobile Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Do you know how much memory and how does the memory perform on the new SPV?
