Degrading condition of handset

Bought my SPV on its first weekend so it is now 3 weeks old but already it is beginning to look very shabby with the silver finish peeling off. I haven't been back to the shop yet but can't see them refusing an exchange.

Anyone else got the same?

Had other phones for 2 years that haven't deteriorated like this

same here, only had mine 2 weeks and lost quite a bit of paint on the corners (havent dropped it at all though) and loads of dust under screen.

Luckily rang orange within my 14 day return policy and my new SPV should arrive tomo. Bought a 3210 case, fits nicely(although covering the bottom row of keys) but better than the faux leather hip pouch and provides better protection.

14 days old, perfect paint but one buggered joystick - new one arrives tomorrow evening..methinks the courrier may have to stand there awhile while i check it over bug by bug..

Yes, mine is also looking very second hand after about 3 weeks use. The silver paint is very thin and has flaked off on the top, bottom and sides of the phone. I've never had a phone that has looked so used so quickly.

Obviously, they gave the outer shell a quick one coat of silver spray paint and left it at that. It should be numerous coats with a laquer finish to be properly robust.

You lot just don't look after your SPV very well :x I'm thinking of reporting you all to the (SPS) Society for the Protection of SPV's :D

With care and attention, mines in perfick condition after nearly 4 weeks, and I use the supplied belt pouch, which I think does the job just fine.

And yes I get it out and use it a lot......the phone that is :(

Cheers, Shire

that's ok thoguh - like new trainers - never look as good as older tear&wear ones... technology is a bit different from snickers though, i guess :D
