Guest fergiem Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 1. I posted a message two weeks ago saying that I went to China and got bombarded with text messages (this time 878 in 4 hours) not in Chinese script 'cos they come out as plain squares but in symbols such as %^&8i)£, is this a virus? This now leaves me with the problem of deleting them all. As I understand it you can delete the cemail.vol file only it won't let me delete it ("make sure memory sufficient") any advice? 2. Last time this happened It conveniently happened at the same time that I wanted to unlock app to enhance my gaming abilities, so I decided to upgrade my software to i mate - this worked fine except I lost the ability to use predictive texting and it filled up my memory so that I can't add any music ring tones and it won't let me delete stuff from the storage card. 3. So my question to the genius' at MOdaco is ... do I have to join membership to get the definitive upgrade (i'm willing to do this just tell me how) and will this mean that I get added games and easy text handling etc? Many thanks Fergie
Guest fergiem Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Sorry that should read my "Windows" folder is totally stuffed with files that it won't let me delete...
Guest pisquee Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Have you tried swapping to a different network when you get bombarded with this crap? Everytime I go to Medeira I get bombarded with crap from local Vodafone network, so I just change to one of the others (Movistar i think) and then it goes away.
Guest PsychoDave Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Have you tried renaming Cemail.vol file to something else. Then deleting it after a reboot. And joining MoDaCo won't get you any "definitive upgrades" (not sure what that would be) but yeah it will get you games and the ability to delete sms' all in one go (SMS Tools from DAT) to mention just a few of the benefits. I've saved more than the membership fee just using the 10% off at Handango benefit. All the best. ;) EDIT: Just noticed this as well. Might help? :? >>Old SMS Tools<<
