Guest chucky.egg Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 I may be missing a huge wind-up, but is SmartGamer for real? If you go to the games section all of the titles link to some almost random site - nothing to do with the game, or even smartphones. Now, I'm not the sharpest tool in the box, but it looks like somebody spent some time designing the site, so what's going on?
Guest Lojt Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 Hm, it does look wierd... maybe he has some kind of 'submit game' function, that someone is abusing...
Guest James Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 yeah.... whar the hell is going on here:- http://www.smartgamer.org/forums/games.php...ws%20SmartPhone
Guest Gorskar Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 The games database is still under construction, and there will be an annoucement when it is ready. The stuff that is in it already was just messing around and will be cleared out. The rest of the site including the news, reviews and so on is all A-ok. In the meantime you could search the smartgamer news archives for games or refer to the modaco software catalogue, which lists all commercial titles for the SP2002 platform and can be filtered to show only games by following the instructions in the sticky post at the top of the catalogue.
Guest davidhorn Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Yup, the games database is still under construction (95% done) and I'm planning to open it to developers later this week, and to the public shortly after that. I put the duff entries in to test the code I've written - sorry if it confused anyone!! The database, when it's done, will show information on every game submitted by SmartPhone developers, including a brief summary, compatibility, extended descriptions. It will also hold information on developers who have registered with links to their support home pages and so on, and of course will be completely searchable; and as already seen will show games by category as well. It's all completely automatic, the only human intervention is an option to approve games before they're posted up in order to stop someone abusing the system. Question: - do you want to see adult games listed in the database, or would you rather they were left out completely? Thanks! David.
