Guest gladel Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 I'm intending to install the i-mate ROM over my SAP and want to know if the i-mate ROM also has the same embedded apps such as IA Album and IA Camera because I seem to notice that from the i-mate website, it's written that it has no IA Camera (and I think same goes with PPCW.Net's i-mate, too).
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 The I-Mate and Qtek both have IA Album on the ROM
Guest gladel Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 How 'bout IA Camera? Is it also embedded in the i-mate ROM?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Not sure off hand without reinstalling the ROM, but as it's normally part of IA Album I would be surprised if it's not there.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Anyone know if the shortcut plugin is included on the Qtek ROM?
Guest gladel Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Dang! While installing the i-mate ROM over my SAP, I got this: ERROR 117: INVALID MODEL ID. Is there a work-around?
Guest gladel Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Dang! While updating my SAP with the i-mate ROM, I got the following message: ERROR 77: INVALID MODEL ID. Is there a work-around?
Guest martin Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Try running the imate update from the SPU canary screen. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 How 'bout IA Camera? Is it also embedded in the i-mate ROM? Like awarner said... Qtek and I-Mate are both born with IA Album - which will allow you to take pictures thru "IA Camera" .. and watch them via "IA Photos" or whatnot...
Guest gladel Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Try running the imate update from the SPU canary screen. Posted from my SmartPhone! Uh, what was the method again on how to get to that Canary screen?
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Turn off your phone Hold down the memo-button Turn on your phone with the memo-button pushed in You're phone will enter canary-mode (3 colored screen...) Place your phone in the cradle, and try to run the update again...
Guest gladel Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Oops, it didn't work. The update doesn't show any activity. Just sez: "... waiting..." Meanwhile, my smartphone just displays a blank white screen. I'm also upgrading it over my SAP ROM v1.5x What's wrong, guys? Help, please...
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 Don't panic ... give it a lil time... What does it say on your computer??
Guest gladel Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 It juz sez something like: "Checking Smartphone version... waiting... Don't remove the Smartphone from the cradle or power supply until update is finished..." Sort of like that and I've waited for almost an hour waiting. Resulting to that, I've disconnected my smartphone and powered-up. Fortunately, everything is still ok. Unfortunately, it's still bearing the SAP 1.5 ROM. What went wrong during the update process? Why did it seemed to have stopped..? Is there another solution?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 When I get the above problem, I leave the phone plugged into the PC and re-boot the PC. I presume it's a small glitch with my firewall.
Guest gladel Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 When I get the above problem, I leave the phone plugged into the PC and re-boot the PC. I presume it's a small glitch with my firewall. May I ask what ROM and bootloader you're using before then after the update? I've seemed to read on another topic that they've been having problems with the SAP 1.5 ROM (which has the bootloader 1.04) updating it with other ROMs? Did you counter that situation with your above claim? I wish to try it again with your advise.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 9, 2003 Report Posted October 9, 2003 As I have posted else where that I do not currently have the SAP bootloader to play with so I can not do a full test to verify the latest SAP problem.
Guest pierre Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Can aynone provide with a proper link to the Imate ROM, and possibly the Eurotel or Qtek one. Thank you
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Click on the following I-Mate Qtek
Guest pierre Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Simply said, is it OK to do this imate update on an SPV-E100 with Eurotel' rom? Can we come back to official Orange' one (let's say in case of Warranty' prob)?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 You can update to the Eurotel ROM but you will be invalidating your warranty. The only Orange update you could go back to is the Swiss one. Remember the official line here is to only use updates from your own network operator, anything else you do is your own responsibility. But this site will still be here to help you sort any mess out ;)
Guest Drug_Store Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Please can someone provide a link to SAP ROM´s? I don´t want latest 1.6.0.08, I need 1.6.0.97 or 1.5. Thanks
Guest Drug_Store Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 It´s not possible to write I-mate or any other rom over SAP1.5. Need to downgrade the bootloader...   But I had many problems downgrading. always errors with winhex procedure... Any help?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Why are you downgrading using winhex? Also with upgradingdowngrading the installation should always be run from the Canary screen. Then you should not have a problem, apart from the new SAP update.
