Posted by Arne Hess @ 04 Oct 2003 at 13:17 CET under 4 - PPCW.Net News. On October 1st, the new Microsoft MVPs was nominated or renewed. While I'm a MVP since 2002 (before I was just a contributing author for Microsoft's PocketPC.com site and member of the Microsoft Mobility Community Council) and renewed for 2004 again, I'm so happy to finally see Carlo on the list as well!!! [image]Congratulations Carlo! What's a Microsoft MVP? The Microsoft MVP Program (Most Valuable Professional) is a worldwide award and recognition program that strives to identify amazing individuals in technical communities around the globe who share a passion for technology and the spirit of community. Microsoft MVPs are recognized for both their demonstrated practical expertise and willingness to share their experience with peers in Microsoft technical communities. Microsoft MVPs are a diverse group of individuals who are: • Recognized: They are acknowledged by peers and also by Microsoft for their active participation in Microsoft technical communities around the globe. • Credible: They have demonstrated practical expertise providing the highest quality information and content. • Accessible: They are active technical community leaders sharing their experience with peers. Carlo did an amazing job in the Philippines in the past to develop the Windows CE community there and therefore the right pal was nominated! Congrats again and looking forward to meet you the first time in reality on the next MVP meeting in Redmond! this article can be read on PPCW.net http://217.160.215.102/index.php?itemid=1540

Guest Norbert Aquende Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 In behaf of President Carlo, I would like to post his reply to the congratulations offered to him by the members in the Pinoy Pocket PC mailing list. I am grateful to Microsoft for the MVP Program, and for those who have honored my efforts these past several years in establishing a community for Windows CE users where ideas and knowledge can be shared for the benefit of its members. Thank you all for being part of this community, in helping it grow and in sharing your experiences and knowledge. When I started out with this users' group, there were but a handful of Windows CE users around. It was such a lonely place to be in, with a post or two in a week and at some times none at all. It was through some friends that shared the same passion for this technology that encouraged me to push forth with a users' group that would be a venue for each member to share their knowledge and experiences with Windows CE devices. Now, nearly three years later, we have a community which constantly grows larger each day. It is my vision that in the future, we may all learn to appreciate technology and further integrate it in our everyday lives. The Pocket PC and Smartphone remain as vehicles for us to achieve this goal. We must learn how to make use of the technology made available to us. It is my vision that our community will be a living testament to this and that our community remains as a credible resource for others to learn from. Thank you once again. Mabuhay! Carlo Ma.
