Guest christatedavies Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 I quickly wrote this site just now that allows you to upload ringtones, and download ringtones. This will save some of modaco's bandwidth I imagine. No logging in necessary, no registrations needed. Easy search, download and upload. Just thought it might be handy, and I did promise Paul I would do it, about 6 months ago! There is no domain name yet, but you can go here http://81.129.0.28 for now, until I get one sorted out. As I said, I only just finished it... Chris
Guest christatedavies Posted October 8, 2003 Report Posted October 8, 2003 The domain name has come though: http://ringtonehome.no-ip.com/ There are no tones there at the moment, I left my cradle on my desk at work.
Guest DMF Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Coulda used a dyndns m8 ;) better service.
Guest christatedavies Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Sorry, its typical... I go out of the country for a couple of days and my router packs up... Plus I didn't pay my ISP bill... tut tut... Its back now...
Guest PsychoDave Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Only one suggestion Mate. You gotta get a new pic for your front page. Nearly quit as soon as I saw that N*kia :D Peace ;)
Guest christatedavies Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Have changed it, just for you. I couldn't find any decent pics of a SPV though....
Guest gspacedboy Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Can tones be downloaded direct through the Spv IE??
Guest BigSid Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 nothin happens when i go to dl a file :?: Nice site though mate 8)
Guest christatedavies Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 gspacedboy - yes you can. But I know realise the SPV's version of IE doesn't like frames, so I'm going to change the site to redirect SPV viewers to an SPV enhanced page. But saying that, I don't know where it downloads them to... I couldn't be bothered to wait for them to download! I'll find out and let you know if you want. Bigsid, try right clicking on the title and choosing "Save target as..." - it may be trying to play them directly and getting screwed somewhere...

Guest christatedavies Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I would appreciate it if someone tried going to it now on their SPV. I have changed the site so it detects a smartphone browser and gets rid of the frames... I have tried it on a P800 and it works fine. Can you try this link: http://ringtonehome.no-ip.com/index.asp Thanks, Chris
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I had a quick run on my SPV .. and this is what it looks like: I also downloaded a wma and a wav file... they both start playing after you've downloaded them. WMA in WMP (of course). Both the files save to this folder: IPSM // Application Data // Volatile // Edited: Meant to say, not the prettiest site, but it works *wink wink* Edited again: Ummm that came out wrong .. not the prettiest site ON THE SPV that is ... preview.jpg
Guest BigSid Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 gspacedboy - yes you can. But I know realise Bigsid, try right clicking on the title and choosing "Save target as..." - it may be trying to play them directly and getting screwed somewhere... thats the one mate, cheers 8)
Guest christatedavies Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Thanks MoRFLeZ... I am going to enhance the page settings for SPV screens very shortly. BigSid, glad you got that sorted... Thanks for your input peeps...
Guest christatedavies Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Sorry if anyone was trying to use the site. for some reason my IIS stopped processing ASP... so I have converted the site to PHP. Lucky its not a big site! Anyway, its back now, and hopefully won't go down again.. (I'll have to make sure my missus doesn't try to bleach the router clean again too)
