Guest Will Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Available now from: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/res...tivesync37.mspx Not able to complete the install as it needs a reboot, and i'm mid download.. but this is from MS's site: Sounds good! Will Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7.1 addresses the top USB connectivity issues resulting in significant increase in connectivity reliability. Specifically, ActiveSync 3.7.1: * Enhances USB driver to improve connection stability and avoid crashes * Improves detection of cradled devices o Addresses issue with ActiveSync falling into guest mode repeatedly o Addresses issue where desktop fails to detect cradled device o Addresses issue where device and desktop report different connection states and sync does not start * Improves the reliability of large file transfers * Enhances Desktop Connection Wizard UI to make connection setup easier * Improves stability to reduce application level crashes
Guest morpheus2702 Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 OK downloaded and using it. Seems a bit smoother - anyone else noticed anything significant?
Guest comebackdx Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 In the earlier versions of Activesync I found that when it tried to synchronise after docking, it would start "Looking for Changes" and never stop. It would take an undocking of the handset and resitting to get it working. The new version sorts this problem out completely! It takes under a second now to check the 400 odd contacts in Outlook with the handset. The new version has so far recognised the docking of the handset everytime. Earlier versions resulted in the occassional docking going amiss. Thank you very much!
Guest ranzz Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Works just as 3.6 worked, I'm really dissapointed though from the speeds of file transfer, it's going REALLY REALLY slow, I'm even considering buying a card reader now that I ordered a 256MB SD card, it'll probably take 2 hours transfering a 200MB film to the phone using the cradle..
Guest morpheus2702 Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Yup, definitely worth investing in a card reader if you are playing with files that big. So far 2 sync errors out of 3 syncs...
Guest ranzz Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 K.. just bought one for 14.00$ including shipping.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Does this version support multiple connections yet? Bet it's a NO ;)
Guest muff Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 multiple connections? as in more than one phone at a time
Guest morpheus2702 Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Unfortunately no second SPV or PPC to try it out, but somehow I doubt it too.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 Where I was having troubles connecting or My PC not seeing the device....it now sees it EVERYTIME! That was my biggest problem and it now appears to be fixed!
Guest danm_cool Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Unfortunately no second SPV or PPC to try it out, but somehow I doubt it too. ActiveSync is not designed for multiple connection. You need an exchange server for that! A+ DM
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 But it would be nice if it did ;)
