Guest Goutetsuu Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Ok about 2 or 3 months ago I updated my SPV software to a dutch version because it had better connections video streaming, the software version was updated from the UK version (ROM ver 1.3.6...something) to the Dutch one (now ROM ver 1.5.0.3 ). THe other day i had problems with my pc, in the end i had to reinstall windows 2000 and active sync again. Now when i try to make a 'session' for a my phone (when it recognises your phone and calls it mobile device) the active synce won't do that now. All it does when i try to connect my phone is the green circle thing in my task tray will just keep on swirling around and not detect my phone so that i can sychronise my phone with my pc. Does anyone know how i can get my phone to synce with my pc, would i need the dutch version of active sync? If someone could shed some light into this, it would be more than greatful, thanks.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Did you remember to unplug the phone and cradle when you reinstalled 2k and Activsync? If not have a look in the Articles section. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=142
Guest Goutetsuu Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 I've tried the link that you suggested, and tried the steps posted, but i still have have the same problem, the green icon just keeps on swirling and swirling to no end. Is it a case that i need to change my ROM version, is it possible to go back to the old UK ROM update?
Guest ruhande Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Have you tried to delete your prevoius partnership? You find it in the File menu in Active sync.
Guest Goutetsuu Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 well i can't even get a new partnership going yet, thats my problem i have
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 What he means is with the phone unplugged delete the existing partnership in Activsync, but to be honest I don't think it will resolve matters but it's worth a try. Also check your firewall settings etc there may be a conflict there.
Guest Goutetsuu Posted October 12, 2003 Report Posted October 12, 2003 after all of that it was the firewall, sheesh, thank you very much guys
