Ive had 4 replacement spv's within a month, with my recent one when I rang orange I complained that this had become a joke and that the continous faults (i.e phone freezes on incoming calls, and sticking in headset profile) was really beginning to bother me know and was affecting my work too. THe chap from orange told me that there was nothing he could do, I asked to speak toa superviser who also told me that there was nothing she could do and I would keep getting spv replacements. I asked for an alternative handset but she said that I could only get an spv teplacement. This is a fa****g joke. Has any one else had this problem with orange, any advice would ne appreciated. Thanx.

Ive not contacted orange cos i'm using vodafone unlocked, but i have had those exact same 2 problems, though the headset sticking problem seems to have resolved itself now, as long as i keep my fone well charged it doesnt freeze

Ive had 3 replacements in a week and a half  . I was told by orange that because my phone had had a previous problem two times that they would upgrade my to the next model free of charge. Maybe you just had an operator who had a bad day but the last few times I have rang up teh service has been excellent. Good luck :)

It's not clear from your post whether or not you have Orange Care?

Cheers, Mark.

Hi the same thing happened to me too , had four replacement original spvs ! in two weeks ! this was all after having ignoring any problems my original handset had cos of reading about the replacement handsets being nightmaringly dodge ! finally had to exchange due to the keypad being broken ! but what an adventure it has been ! not . three handsets have had spoilt screens. the other a sticky keyboard. finally on wednesday i got mad at orange and demanded a different model replacement dmr . they tried to refuse but i stated that i had had three handsets with the exact fault. they said they would call back on thursday morning after speaking to a manager. then yesterday an hour after promised a supervisor called and said the spv would be replaced with an e100 delivered today . So the moral of the story is to fight your case and state clearly what you want. If orange argue against just state that the original spv had an inherent fault either in design or manufacture , which renders it not of satisfactory quality nor fit for the purpose supplied as a mobile phone. THE SALE OF GOODS ACT 1979 , THE SALE AND SUPPLY OF GOODS TO CONSUMERS REGULATIONS 2002. The evidence for this in your case is that you have had four replacements that have been faulty. good luck :-))

you have to be very carefull what you say to the operator, they feed you thru a system that analyses the fault and decides wether you are going to get a replacement or worse still passed onto tech serveces. these lot have a turn around of about a week!!!!!!!! i encountered freeze up probs and have had 2 replacements, the third time they went to tech support. i just followed the hard reset, sorted. then phoned orange to tell them how easy it can be, thank you modaco. they are getting more cagey by the day, i presume they are having loads of probs. stick to the same story and same faults and dig your heels in, you are the paying customer. if that fails threaten to drop your account to the minimum until it expires and they have lost a life customer. good luck :)
