Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 These look stunning now to try the demo.
Guest Richie M Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Demo of 3d Mini Trans Canada - seems to run slow, the car is hard to control, bounces all over the road and the camera angle is too low down, so you cant see the corner untill your on it :? hhmm you maybe able to change camera angle but cant work out how. BTW this is one of those games that have been quickly converted to Smartphone and no effort has gone into the menues ;)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Yep been discussing on IRC this game is a turkey on current phones nop no camera option but you can change the screen size to make it even smaller :? With sound off and screen size down, it's still unplayable.
Guest chucky.egg Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 Better than dog fight though, it does need more work but it looks like they're getting somewhere
Guest Richie M Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 hhhmm ok i just tried 3D Sportsbike as well :? It actually comes as two different looking modes, SuperBikes or Motorcross - and play/look the same as 3D Mini Trans Canada  Although i would say Bikes are slightly more playable than Cars :| But at $19.95 each, nice try but needs more work for that price
Guest muff Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 I suspect (though have no proof) that these are quick conversions of PPC software the fact that most of the menu graphics aren't the right size for the phone and so are stretched horribly to fit certainly suggests that wether these run at an acceptable rate on the PPC's I'm unable to say, but they certainly dont run on SPV's at an acceptable rate the phone is capable of more than this, we'll just have to wait til someone does it tho
Guest midnight Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 i'm afraid OmniG dont really care about the Smartphone, look at the dogfight games aswell and you'll notice those are very bad pocketpc ports aswell and muff.... the phone is capable of more than this, we'll just have to wait til someone does it tho hehe, got any ideas who? ;)
Guest Maverick Posted October 13, 2003 Report Posted October 13, 2003 What do the people at OmniG think we are ? Dummies ?? I wont even consider installing these games on my phone (even if they give it out for free!!)
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Haha those games must be some kind of jokes or something.... Thank god there were trials!
Guest firstandlast Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Installed Mini Sportsbike and it completely reset my phone:( Needless to say, I won't be repeating the exercise :?
Guest Simon Desser Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 New versions of both these games are now available on smartphone.net - If anyone can be bothered? :?
Guest Richie M Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 New versions of both these games are now available on smartphone.net - If anyone can be bothered? :? Oh dear  I thought i'd give OmniG yet another chance #-o Despite the advertising blurp i cant tell any difference  but at least now you get a crap game for only $9.95 instead of wasting $19.95 on the original version. Then again i wouldn't buy this if it was $0.50 A plea to OmniG: please please stop doing these crappy ports to the Smartphone, you are giving the platform a bad name [-X A couple of tips if you do insist on carrying on, take the time to redraw the gfx instead of just shrinking them (especially gfx with text, as most of these are unreadable). Also, do proper Menus having a system font number on screen looks rubbish, proves its a lazy port, and is not user friendly (it may work on the PPC version as they would of clicked with a stylus on those places, but the layout and UI just doesnt work on the Smartphone).
