I was looking through the registry and noticed the server address that MSN connects to is stored in there, meaning, in theory at least, MSN could be made to connect to a 3rd party alternative server instead of the main one (thus getting around the whole MSN cutoff issue)

Which got me thinking - would it be possible for someone to make a PC based app that accepted incoming connections using the old insecure MSN protocol, and then relays an MSN connection itself using the new secure connection (Possibly a Trillian Pro plugin - this'd be especially cool if it'd automatically handle aim/icq/yahoo contacts too and make MSN on the phone think they're normal MSN contacts)
