Why ive moved to Orange from Singlepoint (Vodafone) RANT

Just thought id post here how fed up i am with Singlepoint.

Ive been with Vodafone through Singlepoint for 3 years with a £46 a month contract. i have never once not paid my bill and they've never had any problems from me... first problem i had is when i renewed my contract a 2nd time about a week later i had a phone call from Singlepoint to tell me about "Phone for Life" where pay an extra £5 a month and then get to choose a new handset fo free after 12 months, i wasnt interested but when she asked me if it sounded ok, i said yes, then made my excuses and hung up, a month later i found out they had started charging me... i had to ring them back and once i complained that i had not agreed to increase in my monthly bill (Direct Debit) they took it off my account.

over the time inbetween i had a couple of problems with making International calls while i was over in Canada. i didnt want to complain as my contract was up soon and i thought i could get a nice new upgrade.

i rang them up a month before my contract is up and asked about what they offered to people renewing their contract. they guy didn't have a clue about phones and when i said i currently have an SPV and want something along the same (Smart) lines all he could say is that they have Phones with Cameras on :?. it turned out they could only offer me a crappy nokia or SE at a slightly disscounted rate, i would have to pay about £100 for it... i rang back a couple of days later and asked i how could go about finishing my contract and freeing my number up for another provider, she said she couldnt do it and id need to given 30days written notice to finish the contract, apparentyl although yuor only on a 12 month contract, they dont stop chargin you after 12 months unless you send in 30 days written notice. when i asked what deals i could ge for staying with them all she could offer was the same tariff and a "slightly" disscounted phone... in the end ive decided to move to Orange, ive been given a brand new nokia 7250i (read £180 cash on ebay) for free and my monthly charge is cheaper ;) .

sorry for the rant but it really miffed me off that ive been a good customer and they couldnt care less if i continued with them. so im going to send them a 30 notice letter + tell them why i want to cancel my account...

I was with Singlepoint to and when i decided to get my SPV i thought i would cancel contract with them so I writ to them telling them that i want rid of it... about 5 days later a guy phoned me saying that i was a very highly rated customer (think that was due to the high bill every month).. any i said dont think they could give me anything. I was currently paying £17 month rental and get 500 minutes a month free, so he said that he would double the minutes and give me a years free line rental, and i could still cancel in a year.

So i did the correct thing and took it. now my bill is about £2 a month and have 1000 minute a month free, dont get that with pay as you go!! .. then a couple of days later still got the SPV. so i was happy with them :)
