Guest ravage Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Hi all, i've been reading this site for a couple days now and I can't find what i'm looking for. Let me give you my situation. I'm getting a motorbike and I am going to travel around Ireland and the UK. I don't like not knowing where I am so I want a GPS device. Now the best option for me is probably a Pocket PC phone Edition, but these devices are huge compaired to mobiles. I currently use a Nokia 6610. Now with no sign of Pocketstreets for the Smartphone anytime soon if at all and with the possibility of the IGolf SD GPS device not going to work with a smartphone it looks like my dreams of a Smartphone GPS tracking device are a long way off. So where do I go from here? I like the prospect of the SVP E200 or the Motorola MPx200, but I don't know why. Anyone got any advice? Oh and I live in the Republic of Ireland where you can't buy a Smartphone on a network so I have to buy it SIM Free.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Welcome to the site :) Buying the phone SIM free is going to be very expensive for new phones :( As noone has both of the new phones it's hard to give an opinion, but the E200 seems to be popular to the people who have managed to play with them. As for GPS a PPC with wireless bluetooth and Tomtom navigational software should do you fine.
