spv e100 sms txt problem

NEWBIE alert!! Can anyone help me please? I am prone to sending very large sms txt messages but am having major problems since changing from a Nokia 7650 to the spv. I seem to be able to recieve large txts ok but when sending them 99 times out of 100 they fail to go or if they do only part of the message is recieved and sometimes the characters are corrupted. This problem occurs on any network that i send to. If i just send a line or two of txt i dont have a problem its only when i send "War and Peace" the problem seems to happen. I put the spv sim card into my 7650 and have had no problem at all with any length of txt message.
